What are Groups?

What is a group?

A group is a named collection of users useful for organization and categorization. Administrators can easily tell, for example, which users are faculty or students, freshmen or sophomore, or any other grouping your school administrators would find useful. Additionally, having groups makes it easier to grant course or e-Portfolio access to a large number of users quickly.

How many groups can a user be in?

There is no limit to the number of groups a student can be in.

How are groups managed?

Management of the groups is handled in one of two ways: 1) People can be added to and removed from groups manually by admins when they are logged in to the admin interface. 2) The daily import also supports both adding and removing people from groups.
