Statistics

The "Statistics" page in the Administration tab allows administrators to view system-related metrics to get a sense of the activity taking place within any institution.

General

The "General" page gives administrators a quick glimpse of what's going on system-wide.

Users

"Users" is the first tab displayed on the "General" page when administrators click on "Statistics". User information isbroken down by user type.

User-type is broken down into the following categories:

  • Total Number of Users in the institution
  • Number of Student Users
  • Number of Faculty Users
  • Number of Alumni Users

ePortfolio

ePortfolio statistics included in this view

  • Number of e-Portfolios created...
  • Number of e-Portfolio pages created...
  • Top 10 e-Portfolios with most number of hits...
  • Top 10 e-Portfolio students/faculty by number of hits...

All of the above metrics are further broken down by the following time frames:

  • For All Time
  • Last 24 hours
  • Last 30 days
  • Last 6 months
  • Last year

The last metric available is thetotal number of hits on all e-Portfolio pages.

Courses

The "Courses" tab within the "General" page provides statistics by the following criteria:

  • Total Courses
  • Total Assignments
  • Faculty who have created an assignment
  • Number of assignments created
  • Number of submissions completed
  • Number of discussion posts

All of the above metrics are further broken down by the following time frames:

  • For All Time
  • Last 24 hours
  • Last 30 days
  • Last 6 months
  • Last year

Courses

The "Courses" option under statistics allows for the listing of any and all systems within a course, which includes the ability to export the information as a CSV file.

Course Listing - Filter Criteria

Course listings can be filtered by the course type (course, community, or assessment group) and start and end dates. Clicking on the "Go" button without filtering by date will give you a listing for all of the courses of the selected course type.

Course Listing - Report Results

After either filtering or simply pressing the "Go" button, administrators will be able to view a listing of all the courses in the system or according to specified criteria. The option to start a new search or export the current list are available right at the top of the report results. Clicking on the "Export" button will initiate an automatic download of a CSV for the current listing.

Users

The "Users" option under statistics allows administrators to get a list of users within their system. Just as with "Courses" this tool also includes the ability to export user information as a CSV file.

User Listing - Filter Criteria

User listings can be filtered by system groups and account type. If no system groups or account types are defined before clicking the "Go" button, the report results will include information for all users.

Once a particular listing has been generated, the option to start a new search or export the current list are available right at the top of the report results. Clicking on the "Export" button will initiate an automatic download of a CSV containing all of the data generate with the listing.

Posts By Week - Filter Criteria

The "Posts by Week" page allows you to find the number of posts created within a course in the "Discussions" tab.

Post By Week - Report Results

After filtering by date or simply clicking the "Go" button to generate a list, you can either start a new search or export your results as a CSV file just as with users and courses.

Posting Distribution - Filter Criteria

The "Posting Distribution" will give administrators the ability to find how many users have posted how many comments.
